It is with great sadness that we have accepted Alison’s resignation. Alison and her husband came to Christchurch to make the most of the wonderful lifestyle the South Island offers and have now fallen in love with the Mackenzie country, which unfortunately is too far for Alison to commute.

Alison says she had not anticipated leaving Cherry’s as it fits so beautifully with her personal philosophy: it is a fabulous community, beautiful centre and she feels she has formed wonderful relationships with the families. Therefore she has found the decision very difficult as she has loved her time working in the Older Children’s area.

We congratulate Alison on a position she has accepted to help establish and teach in a new Kindergarten being developed in Tekapo. Alison will finish with us at the end of September.

I would like to acknowledge the incredible impact Alison has made at Maryhill over this short time. Her genuine love for young children and the desire to foster their learning is a constant passion that has oozed from her in many different and fun ways. Alison’s enthusiasm to share her vast knowledge and support our team has created a wonderful learning environment for the staff as well, that we will be able to continue long after Alison has finished with us.

We are currently advertising this Team Leader position and hope to find another amazing passionate person to fill Alison’s shoes. We will inform you when we have made a new appointment.
